Scottish Trans Independence Campaigner Admits Creation of Indecent AI Images of Children

Amelia (Thomas) Connolly, a biological male who identifies as a woman, has pleaded guilty to the creation of four images of children in sexualised positions.

In a statement to his ROBLOX group, which is aimed at younger people, he cited that he had been diagnosed with autism, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, severe depression, anxiety, and a rare form of blood cancer (NLPHL). He further stated that he was emotionally immature.

He claimed that the case had been jumped on by the media and was being used as a political football. In a TikTok video, he downplayed the seriousness of the charge and claimed the law was “out of date”.

Connolly is the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer for the Scottish Young Greens. GB Politics attempted to approach the Green Party for comment, to request a statement, and to ask what measures were in place to ensure all young people were protected from harm and abuse. The party refused to comment.

As well as his involvement with the Young Greens, he is also an organiser for Stirling Pride.

Organisers for Pride said they were appalled to hear about the conviction and confirmed that Connolly had been removed from the group.

A spokesman said: “This is an extremely serious crime and we are shocked and deeply saddened that someone connected to our organisation has been involved in such offences.

“The individual has been permanently removed from all involvement with Stirling Pride today, as soon as we became aware of the conviction.

“We want to reassure our community that the volunteer’s duties did not involve access to safeguarding information, regulated activity, or any role that would place them in contact with children or vulnerable adults.

“Their involvement with the organisation was supervised and did not include positions of responsibility.”

Moderley Group is a virtual Head Office group that manages popular, industry-leading services across the Roblox platform. On the group’s website, it claims to be suitable for all ages.

On the popular gaming platform Roblox, approximately 39–42% of users are 12 or younger.

Moderley Group was contacted on several occasions by GB Politics, via telephone and email. Despite efforts to have both sides represented, no statement was received. One worker in Moderley claimed that they had “brought in” a PR team, but no PR team contacted GB Politics within a four-day period.

The Group is run by Mr Connolly and has dozens of younger users working within it, placing Connolly in a position of authority over them.

Sheriff Simon Collins KC deferred sentence until May 1 for this purpose.

He also called for a restriction of liberty order assessment.

He said: “It’s an unusual case.

“The background, I suspect, needs to be investigated.”
