The Conservative Party has gained the Aberdeen South seat from the SNP in a parliamentary by-election.

The contest was triggered by the resignation of former SNP MP Stephen Flynn after he won a seat in the Scottish Parliament in May.

Results (with changes from 2024):

  • Conservatives: 14,308 (+3,008)
  • SNP: 8,258 (−6,955)
  • Reform UK: 2,478 (−721)
  • Labour: 1,550 (−9,905)
  • Liberal Democrats: 1,270 (−1,651)
  • Green Party: 974 (−635)

This represents a significant swing to the Conservatives in the constituency.
